Welcome back to Air Bros Reviews SA in partnership with PeligGuns.com! In today’s review, we’re diving into the unboxing and field testing of the Kral Puncher Rambo Pump Action PCP 5.5mm Air Rifle—a unique and powerful airgun straight from Turkey. Kyle and Rolf walk us through this incredible piece of hardware, so let’s get into what makes this air rifle stand out.
Unboxing the Kral Puncher Rambo
When we first opened the box, we were greeted by the rugged and sturdy design of the Kral Puncher Rambo. This PCP air rifle doesn't come with a lot of unnecessary frills—it’s all about performance. Here’s what you get in the box:
- The Rambo PCP air rifle itself
- Two 12-round magazines
- A filling probe, Allen key, and a single-shot loader
- An instruction manual
The rifle has a 200-bar fill pressure, and you can shoot it down to 100 bars before needing to refill. It’s equipped with a 280cc tank, providing an impressive shot count of up to 40 shots per fill, perfect for extended shooting sessions. The rifle features an adjustable cheekpiece and butt pad, allowing you to tailor it to your shooting preferences.
What really sets this airgun apart is the pump-action cocking mechanism—a feature that makes it feel like something out of an action movie. Every time you extend the foregrip, pump it, and fire, it delivers a satisfying experience that adds to the overall fun of shooting this rifle.
Key Features of the Kral Puncher Rambo
- Caliber: The Kral Puncher Rambo comes in a .22 caliber, ideal for small game hunting or target shooting.
- Adjustability: It features an adjustable cheekpiece and butt pad, making it comfortable for various shooters, especially when using different optics.
- Pump Action: The pump-action cocking lever is what makes this air rifle stand out. It allows for fast and continuous shooting, keeping your hand in position for follow-up shots.
- Magazines: The rifle comes with two 12-round magazines, and for beginners, the single-shot loader might be more comfortable to avoid double loading.
- Trigger: It has a match-style trigger that’s smooth and responsive, contributing to accurate shooting.
Test Shooting at 30 Meters
To test the accuracy and power of the Rambo, we used JSB 18-grain pellets and equipped the rifle with a Te Eagle 1-6x24 IR illuminated scope. While this scope can be used on firearms, it worked perfectly on the PCP for today’s review.
The Rambo chronographed at an impressive 942 feet per second (fps), giving the pellets serious power and speed. We shot a five-shot group at 30 meters and achieved tight accuracy. After fine-tuning, we managed to hit a small gong target consistently. The pump-action cocking system made rapid shooting easy and smooth, allowing for quick follow-up shots without losing aim.
Handling and Performance
One of the highlights of the Kral Puncher Rambo is its ambidextrous design. Whether you’re a left-handed or right-handed shooter, you’ll have no trouble handling this rifle. The only non-ambidextrous part is the magazine, but that’s a minor detail.
The pump-action system is unique, giving the rifle a semi-auto feel. It allows for rapid fire, making it perfect for scenarios like small game hunting or plinking. The grip is ergonomic, fitting comfortably in your hand, and the safety is easy to access.
Double Loading: A Common Issue
One thing to watch out for is double loading, which can happen if you're not familiar with pump-action mechanisms. If you do accidentally double-load, the Kral Puncher Rambo allows you to safely fire both pellets out. However, it’s best to avoid this by practicing the pump-action technique: back, forward, and then shoot. If you do double load, remove the magazine and carefully fire the rounds out.
Final Thoughts
The Kral Puncher Rambo is a fantastic air rifle for those looking for something different. Its pump-action design, powerful performance, and overall fun factor make it a standout in the world of PCP air rifles. Whether you're hunting, target shooting, or just having fun, this rifle delivers in all categories.
The ability to shoot at 940 fps with consistent accuracy, combined with its 40-shot capacity, ensures you get plenty of use out of each fill. While it’s not the quietest air rifle, the performance more than makes up for it. Overall, we loved testing out this air rifle, and it’s definitely one we’d recommend for any airgun enthusiast.
